To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyses reviews to verify trustworthiness.
i knew little about this film when i purchased it except that my role model in life, andy kaufman, was in it. he was, so i was satisfied. beyond that, it is actually amusing in parts, but nothing exceptional. it was over the top, but not engaging enough to be shocking. there were a few good chuckles, and when i bought it, it was only a few bucks. that said, unless you have some other particular interest in it, i wouldn't advise dropping more than five bucks on it, if you desire to own it at all, as one viewing should be sufficient.
It's basically a good-natured slap at the folly of (some) Protestant characteristics. The Porter Waggoner style minister (Armageddon T. Thunderbird) was entertaining, as a parody of televangelists in general, as well as their penchant for frequent financial contributions. A "low grade" comedy all told, but mildly enjoyable.
