Nothing to dislike from these five books all were un put downable from start to finish. I have read lot of books over the years and found these book to be almost the best written so very interesting and exciting plots reccomended reading for crime enthusiasts

My first book in Hart Series but that did not matter, there are enough connections to previous stories.
Although there are a few twists and turns, despite the red herrings, the bad eggs are easily identified.

Although the fifth of the Detective Karen Hart adventures, it was this reader’s first encounter and thus more a standalone crime mystery. The story begins with a couple out walking of an evening at a Christmas Market, unaware they are being watched. A scream from the Lincoln Cathedral begins the murder investigation with a macabre signature left marking the victim. As the investigation evolves, other issues, including possible police force corruption or a seemingly unsolvable car crash arise. A gripping police procedural with great characters and engrossing mystery that deepens as the danger and body count mounts. It’s an outstanding crime novel with a minimum four-star must-read rating. I have enjoyed the series but am disappointed with this, the last book in the series. The characters are believable, the events tied into the previous books and the plot mostly well thought out, ecxept for one jarring note. How on earth could the murderer have possibly overheard his last victim on the phone? If he listened to the conversation on a bugged phone, which is the only real possibility, that should be made clear, and the timeline adjusted accordingly. The editor really should have picked this up.

This is the last one (so far) in the DS Karen Hart. A golden button to close the story, tieing up the story that has been developing in the background of Karen's work and life.
I wasn't expecting a serial killer, so even better.
For moments you hold your breath not knowing where this is going to go, and I'm finally getting used to knowing that there's going to be a plot twist and everything I'm sure of is going to be the other way around, but I still don't see it coming.

Having been in the CID at Lincoln, I found the book especially interesting!
One star was deducted Ms Butler, for not knowing how much humour (especially of the black variety) occurs in a hard working office. 😉
