I appreciate that these exist, as they're the only reason I'm able to skate. However I'm disappointed they're so much more expensive than any other basic pads though. A $100+ accessory to see if I like a hobby is a lot.
I also wish there was a more basic / neutral colour option. Rainbows aren't my thing whatsoever , and the leopard print is still a bit much.
(Also this is really petty, but every time I see or say "moxi pads" I can't help but think "maxi pads" and I truly just don't love that being written 6 times on my body in pictures)
The functionality though is great, they do what I need them to do, and again appreciate the sizing being available.
Maybe black and white stripes (or checkered), with black logos would be a good pattern! Still bold like the rest of the brand, but less hyperfem.
Getting back into skating after a very long time, I didn't realize at first that certain pads were designed to support the fall of different weights, felt pretty silly for that, since I'm on the heavier side my old ones weren't cutting it. I was worried they were gonna be too big, but I think my knees are pretty happy I sized up. I have an old knee injury that doesn't do well with impact, but falling on these feels like I'm landing on a nice thick pad, doesn't hurt at all, it's lovely. The curve on the knee pads is a nice reminder to bend my knees too, but it does make doing things that require my legs to be straight a bit difficult, not impossible tho. I like that these are the sleeve kind, it makes them more comfortable for longer use times. The wrist guards have saved my hands too many times to count now, but I do need to adjust them too sit off center because of how I catch myself, idk if anyone else has that issue with wrist guards. Overall, I love these! Highly recommend, especially for people on the heavier side or those who have old injuries like me (I'm not a professional tho, make sure you're not making your injuries worse!). Definitely gonna buy another pair when it's time!
I have a variety of health issues and some wonky joints, so the cheaper pads I started with desperately needed an upgrade if I want to safely skate. These are SUCH an improvement. They look comicammu large when they arrive, but I knew I ordered the right size, and when I put them on - they all fit perfectly. They are so comfy between the thick straps, the sleeve fabric, and the density of the padding - not to mention the hard plastic isn’t as aggressively curved as my last set. My old pas gad a major vertical bend in the knee, so when I fell forward it thre me off balance every time. These knee pads are much flatter in the center, with a rounded top and side so that if I fall forward it feels much more solid.
I bought cheap pads last year because the wait time on these was 3 months, and I should’ve hust waited. They’re so worth it.
