4.0 out of 5 starsSound Quality A Bit Disappointing

Had unit for about a week now and am pretty happy with it, although speaker sound isn’t great. It’s a bit tinny and the volume isn’t great either. Also surprised it doesn’t have Bluetooth like other Echo units.
You’d think a device this price and size would be capable of some fluid capabilities but it behaves like a 5 year old piece of tech. It’s clumsy and slow and the interface is such a let down. Interacting with the screen is frustratingly slow, it feels underpowered out of the box. It’s a bit of an embarrassment for Amazon to release such a product at this price point with such poor features it feels like a beta product.
It’s very nice and I use it for listening to radios and watching TVof a number of European studios. To watch On Demand movies, to call friends, to record shopping and events. The are paired with other devices, like the doorbell and my hearing aids. We have four in different rooms so we can access one in more than 4 spots. It recognizes my voice and my wife’s. I have no experience with other brands, my fiend has Apple devices and is happy with those. If I have one complaint it regards the sound. That should be further improved without having to buy expensive speakers.
this is the best version of alexa echo. something I have become reliant on because I am visually impaired and I have MS. My life is so much easier and great that I can watch a movie or read a book just with voice commands. The device really makes having a computer & TV etc. obsolete and for a fraction of the cost. I highly recommend. I will say that I agree with the first reviewer it does not have the same sound quality. I am going to try to link my Echo as a speaker. FYI
