Once the package was delivered today my husband has had it plugged in and using it with no issues with the ps5 seamless and adds more options of gaming keyboard mouse headset and charging controllers all at once
The USB hub works as advertised, but does not fully latch into place as you would expect. It kind of just hangs off the USB ports, and wobbles a lot. Also note that if you are buying this hub to work with PSVR, unfortunately it does not support any PSVR connections, nor an external had. So this will not allow you to connect PSVR, camera, and external hdd at the same time.
It does support wireless headsets and controller charging. The headset sound quality seems close to normal. Controller charging is slow but works as long as the PS5 is powered on.
I wished I sent this back ..but it went over my time because I end up using it late ..or at least test out all the features.. For starters it works well as a multi USB port hands down ..but for (and this is what I found out late ) charging using the provided usb cable that came with the PS5 does not charge ..in order for me to charge the controller u have to take off the unit and plug it directly into the one front USB port ..I originally got this for the extra ports for VR anyway..and also I got the dual sense charging station..which was the reason why I never got around to testing the charging abilities..I ordered a clear case for my controller..and it didn't fit on charger..which led me to try and use this ..also ..I never got around to using the c type on this yet ..but in order for me to test it out I need to get a ctype to ctype ..which I'll be getting that soon..hopefully it will work out ..but overall if you just using this for the extra Ports and not for charging ur good to go ..it is a nice added look
I’ve been reading reviews for this piece after the fact of me buying it and having it shipped since it didn’t even cross my mind at the time to check for reviews. After reading what others had to say about it, truth be told, I thought I had just screwed myself over. HOWEVER, after spending some time with it , I’ve been able to prove that it doesn’t have only a few hours of use time as others have claimed. It actually works pretty well when I connect my keyboard, mouse and even my microphone to it with no issues of input with the mouse and keyboard. The microphone is where things get interesting. I own a hyperx quad cast microphone and that doubles as an audio output for my headset. When playing I started noticing some issues but I thought it was the game but today once I took it off and connected my headset straight to the ps5 I realized what it was. Some how, despite the input being usb and nothing other than that changing, when it’s plugged thru the hub, my audio is being distorted and with fps titles such as call of duty and Fortnite where audio is important to your overall performance, it was affecting where the noises were coming from in a position perspective. Noises that I knew had to be coming from my left could be heard somewhere on my right back side and noises behind me were somewhere on my front left side, not to mention that the volumes were also being altered; giving me the ilusión of someone being very close when in reality they were still a good distance away and when someone was right in front of me, I had already heard them on top of me WAY before I could even see them. To end this review, in my opinion this usb hub is definitely worth it If and only if your main intent is to play games with keyboard and mouse and if the game isn’t heavily reliant on audio feedback such as something slower like Minecraft for example. Durability seems good after a week or so with it and although it does feel a bit on the wobbly side since it’s only hanging on from the USB ports, it is securely connected and won’t be going anywhere.
I don't know why this thing has so many ports because once you use more than 2 it stops working. Not necessarily its fault, it's just how the ps5 was designed apparently. Once more than 2 devices are plugged in it reduces the functionality of the port to only low power charging. But at least the design is in line with the theme of the console and the type-c port is perpendicular to the console.
Why they feel the USB-C port should also somehow connect to the other ports is beyond me.
