To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyses reviews to verify trustworthiness.
This book had the makings of being really good, but it just failed to deliver really. It built up well with the secrets, but the end was such a disappointment. If you buy it then be prepared for a rubbish ending!
This book sounded like it would be a good read but I had a very hard time focusing and staying interested in the story. Every now and than the chapter would end with a cliff hanger but later when you found out what the big secret was it was always a let down. Alot of times while I was reading I couldn't follow the story. I feel like there are some gaps in places that should have been filled in with more narrative. It's not the worst I've ever read but it took me a long time to finish. I'm the type that once I start reading a book, no matter what, I try to finish it.
I read this book because of the reviews. I actually went back and re-read the reviews again. “Thrilling! Page turner! Couldn’t put it down?” I don’t think these reviewers and I read the same book. There was nothing “thrilling”. Sasha and Caitlin are whiney and annoying. And Chuck is a woos! The “BIG” ending was anti-climatic and disappointing.
Writing is quite good but the whole book is a disappointment. I read the halfwaiting for something to happen, to turn upsidedown but the author went on and on, going back and forth from past memories to present times with no real plot. It takes you almost whole book to find their secrets which really aren't shocking or suprising or the affect anyhow. Characters are kind of bland... Next time maybe something with twists and turns.
