5.0 out of 5 stars Great addition to my 4K library.

Good quality transfer. I only had the original DVD version of this film, so was keen to purchase the 4K disc as soon as it was released. Plenty of extra features in addition to the main film. Overall I was happy with my purchase, although I fail to understand why reissues of old movies in the higher 4K format seem to command the same price as new releases in UHD.

4.0 out of 5 stars Seems to suffer from a virus in the coding!

Having bought a copy of this DVD many years ago from Woolworths and not having watched it for a while I was more than a little upset when my Samsung Cinema System DVD Player crashed when I clicked on Play Film. However the DVD played okay in the Toshiba unit plugged directly into the TV, and since has also played in a Toshiba TV with in-built DVD player, even if there were some seconds where the disc whirred before playing. As such I decided to replace the disc in case it was slightly damaged. Sadly the copy I bought here has the same problem. This cannot be the fault of the seller but appears to be a slight coding problem of the data on the disc.

Just wondering if other purchasers have experienced the same issues as me?

The seller was very quick and, again, is not at fault here.

It might be the Samsung Cinema System but there are glitches from the main menu on the Toshiba units too and films 1, 3 and 4 in the series (and all other DVDs) play fine on the Cinema System.

Great film though from a series which is due to be added to in 2017!

4.0 out of 5 stars Game on

This sequel has done rather well and is as good as the first. In terms of the game this has much more in common with the games than the first, some of the scenes are almost lifetd straight from the game (helicopter shooting office block) for one. This covers areas of the 2nd and Nemesis games. With Nemesis a key character in this film. Continuing almost straight on from the first this is a cool action film in it's own right but has a good sense of humuor to. So if you just after a cool action film with some challenging stunts you'll enjoy this, but purely switch off your brain time action. Although I did feel a bit dissapointed with the ending to be honest and think a few others scenes would have beefed it up a little, maybe siege at the police station as in the 2nd game would have be fun.
The DVD is loaded with extras, with some comparison to the games although as a big fan of the games wish this was more indepth than it is. You also get the usual making of, deleted scenes blooper reel and it really comes across how much fun the actors had making this film especially Jocahvich, and the zombie school is fun. Also includes a look at some of the stunts and special effects for key scenes and how they were done. Overall a very cool package for resident evil and action fans alike.

4.0 out of 5 stars Better than the first one

If you felt the first "Resident Evil" movie didn't quite capture the atmosphere of the original game, you can sleep a little easier now. "Resident Evil: Apocalypse" has EVERYTHING: from dark, creepy graveyards, a Gothic cathedral and classic lorries in an "Escape from New York"- style deserted city to a cigarette smoking Jill Valentine and half naked hooker zombies. Although this sequel clearly had a much bigger budget than the original film, director Alexander Witt has kept it credible and didn't use digital technology to bombard your senses and keep your mind of the lack of a decent storyline. Rather than making you feel like you're watching a computer- made movie where nothing seems real, the special effects help create a desolate and panicky atmosphere with credible characters who struggle to survive in a city that's infested with their undead compatriots, partially decayed K-9s and other creepy lifeforms. The scene where one survivor has to go up against a class of elementary school zombies is just terrifying. Unlike the director of the "Dawn of the Dead" remake, Witt and producer/ script writer Paul W.S. Anderson have opted not to follow in the footsteps of the fast- moving "28 Days Later" zombies, but has clearly been inspired not only by George Romero's view of walking corpses, but also by his opinion of our western society. The real evil in this movie is not the zombies or even the killer mutant Nemesis (who looks and sounds like he has just stepped out of the original game and into this movie), but a Big Brother- style multinational that puts itself above the law and has no respect whatsoever for morale, decency or anything human. Even if you've never played the video game, didn't like the first "Resident Evil" movie or don't care for a lot of high tech military action in a horror film, I'd still highly recommend you take the time to watch this one. If you liked both the 1978 version of "Dawn of the Dead" and "Aliens", you're going to love "Resident Evil: Apocalypse". Besides, if internationally acclaimed Milla Jovovich agreed to add it to her résumé of, among others, "the Fifth Element", "the Messenger: the Story of Jean of Arc" and "the Million Dollar Hotel", it has to be good!

This is Great, I bought the episodes back to front . lol so Started of with Exinction, which is still my faverite of the episodes, although yet to buy the first one. I did get Afterlife too, and although it was pretty good, wasnt to keen on Mila with shaved head lol The ending on the Arcadia, was strange, and no idea who this woman in charge of the fleet of choppers inbound, wearing that red spider amulet is, so I think probably be another film in the workings, dont know really.

this is a great installment and there is plenty of action to boot, but considering this is a zombie horror there is hardly any gore and considering which saga this is, you would think there would be a little more nastiness! all that aside this is one hell of a thriller that is going to grip you from the start and not let go until your eyes are sore with concentration! great film
