My puppy destroyed it in about 5 minutes. Completely destroyed, with all the stuffing coming out. I bought toys from that brand before and they have been durable and absolutely fantastic. I expected the same quality and have been sorely disappointed. I would not recommend.

Great toy but easily destroyed

Our 11 month old puppy loves this toy however after 24 hours (with only about 6 hours playtime with this toy) I’ve already had to perform brain surgery on each of the chipmunks and make four repairs to the log. Our puppy hasn’t destroyed any other toy or teddy we’ve got her and doesn’t chew cushions or furniture but she does have good teeth and chew bones a lot. My advice is to remove the chipmunk ears with scissors (they rip out and cause the frontal lobotomy that I’ve had to repair) and to have a needle and thread handy. Was disappointed as reviews said how sturdy this one was and so we went for the expensive option hoping it would last a long time (I was thinking years not days!).

I have a 3 month old mini dachshund puppy. She's really energetic and curious and loves to chew.

She LOVES the squirrels from this toy. She chews them constantly. She carries them (and hides them) everywhere. She squeaks them and shakes them. They're her favorite things.

She doesn't really play with the log on her own. If I shove the squirrels in, she'll attack it to get them out (and then hide them from me). If I hold one inside the log and squeak it, she'll play as long as I will (that's what we're doing in the video).

I'm docking a star for the sound. The squirrel squeak is really loud. It's a strong squeak (which I'm sure my puppy loves but it drives me a bit crazy). I have to hide this toy from her at night so the squeaking doesn't wake me.

We've only had the toy for 2 days but she's spent a few hours chewing on the squirrels and so far there's no damage. I'll try to update in a month or two with the durability.

After One Month: Review Update
I've lowered it down from 4 stars to 3 stars. While my puppy still loves the squirrels (and they're in excellent shape), she never touches the log.

Since my puppy only likes part of this toy, I feel that 4 stars is too many. If I was rating just the squirrels (which I've learned you can buy without the log), I'd give them 4 stars (docking a point because of the super annoying sound).

Usage: The log is never touched. She chews on a squirrel for a few minutes, several times a day. They're the perfect size for her to carry around (and she tends to keep one in her bed).

Condition: The log is never touched so it looks brand new. 1 of the squirrels looks brand new, the other 2 squirrels have noses that are unraveling, and one squirrel has lost an ear. The bodies and tails on all of them are fairly pristine. I'm genuinely surprised that they're in such good condition because she does chew them, a lot (and she still has those sharp puppy teeth). I'll definitely buy more replacement creatures when (or if) these break.

TLDR: the squirrels are a quality 4 star toy but the log is of no interest to my puppy.

This is hands down my German shepherds favorite toy. Have played together with it almost every night for over a month. The chipmunks get fetched, squeaked, pulled out of the log and thrown around for hours and are still surprisingly in good condition for a dog that destroys most stuffed toys in minutes. Two of the chipmunks have lost their noses and there are a few ears missing in total. The log is in great condition but I do have to distract him with the chipmunks if he gets too focused on picking at the insides of it. This is an interactive toy and I never leave it with him unattended. Highly recommended! I will buy another if this one gets destroyed.

Loved the fact that it was a puzzle toy which my pommie figured out that she could get everything pout by shaking the log furiously even though it is bigger than she is. Great value for the money despite the wait ( not Amazon’s fault, just time of year.

Not the same quality as the chipmunks that came as a set with the log. Material seems thinner, squeaker broke in one after a few days, tails are all dangerously close to coming off. They also seem a bit smaller too. Would probably still buy again if these ones break because dog loves them so much.

Loved the size of these hedgehog toys. pkg contained three. took one and cut it open to remove squeaker. Add the cats freshly dried catnip in the belly and sewed the toy back up. My Maine Coon Kitty loves the size and the fact that it is furry so he can pick it up easier. Would recommend these toys for small dog or cat.

My dachshund loves this toy, he normally destroys every other toy I get him but this one has held up. He love to burrow his face into it to get the squirrels. HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend this toy for any dog who likes to burrow into things.
