Impossible to put down!

I always knew I was in for a wild ride with one of Harley's books, and now she's added paranormal to the mix I am here for it. This kinky book book skirts the edge of safe, which is just where you want your consensual BDSM to be. Rae is on a return trip to her home town, but when she dabbles in the paranormal and Leon is the result, there is no place to run where Leon won't find her. I loved the underlying story, the attraction between these two characters, the eroticism, that tangled all together was a well blended story with an ending I didn't see coming.

TW/CW: Check the triggers for this book as it is dark, suspenseful and down right gorey at times. But it is also not even close to darkest dark romance I've read... Spice is not 'vanilla' if you catch my drift - just want to let the reader know, in case you're picking it up for spice, please be aware that it is of a kinky nature. BDSM, sub/dom, pain, knife-play etc.

Our main girl moves back to her childhood home town to finish off the last year of her college, in the hopes to 'find herself' and gain some 'independence' following her parents' retirement and move to Spain. She's spunky and ready to connect to this old town with a dark and mysterious past. She has one close friend and a great little kitty-cat; but soon she finds herself drawing a whole lot more interest then she ever anticipated. This is partly because she has an unruly interest in the dark and dangerous; scouring through old grimoires with handsome demons, scouting out decrepit old churches for ghosts in the hopes of catching a glimpse of the paranormal so she can post on Youtube.

Before she knows it; she is knee deep in trouble, with a demon on her case telling her to behave, a murderous cult praying to a dead god, monsters in the woods just waiting to tear into her and a creepy sibling duo outright desperate to make friends with her. Who can she trust?

This book is the perfect October read - supernatural creatures, sexy demons, murder, suspense, spice, romance, cult-y creeps etc.

There are two more books coming in this collection, which will have similar main plot threads connecting them while it will focus on other couples that you get introduced to in this book. I'm keen to learn more about those two couples and how the story finalizes.

In reality I rate 3 stars, but I don’t want the rating going down because it was really enjoyable.
The start of the novel was good, but I wasn’t dying to read in one sitting, and actually stopped about a quarter of the way through because I lost interest and read another book, but picking this up again, it started to moving really well towards the 70% mark, which made up for being a little lack lustre the first half.
I would recommend for a quick read, but will not re-read

Oh Leon, you split tongue demon. I squealed. I could not get enough of this book. I first read it on KU and immediately ordered a paperback copy, preordered book two and The Dare, because Harley cannot write a bad book.

It has mystery, kink, smut, demons and a really strong plot. The writing is great and I know it is a book i will reread again and again.

This book was well written, had an interesting plot and just enough spice to enjoy it without it being repetitive and over the top. The two MC were surprisingly pleasant but I felt like the side characters were just tossed aside and just put in to make it feel like the MC were not isolated.

Overall, I enjoyed the book and looking forward to reading the next one.
