Christa Playfoot has spent most of her life caring for others, playing nice, allowing her ex-husband to dictate the rules and take credit for her cooking and achievements. Now she is on her own and starting from scratch. Her first assignment is a personal chef over the Christmas holidays for a single dad at Pudding Hall.
"Christmas Wishes at Pudding Hall" by Kate Forster is the perfect mix of romance, adventure recipes, Christmas cheer and generosity of spirit. It makes for a delightful and fulfilling holiday read.
Totally predictable storyline but I guess that’s to be expected of a Christmas read and then let’s not talk about the editing. There were so many grammatical errors, missing words and spelling mistakes that I ended up skipping to the end.
Thank goodness for the twins, they made this book with their personalities, it's such a shame that Christa who is smart, talented and beautiful was made and believed she was the lesser one in her marriage, her ex really was a ....?. Divorced taking on a new job as chef for Marc and his twins who made her realise her strengths and that she was a brilliant chef and person who deserved the best.
Thank you Kate forster for yet another wonderful book it's cheered me up no end as over the weekend i had a very bad fall and was admitted to hospital with a severe fracture to my knee so as I can't sleep or walk I started reading it and finish it the same night so thank you and looking forward to hearing what comes next from you I think that the twins are wonderful
What a treat it was to read this exceptional story. It’s so much more than a story centred around Christmas. The characters are written so well you feel you know them as part of your community. A cracking read with amazing recipes too. Thank you Kate you’ve sprinkled some Christmas cheer into my life.
Lovely Christmas book with a couple of more thought provoking story lines. The addition of the recipes as they appeared in the story was a good idea. The main drawback was the number of typing errors - especially words missing or added - which detracted from the story. I started to amend the errors but gave up as there were so many. A good story but it needs better proof reading.
A real feel good book. It is filled with warmth, friendship, a bit of intrigue, dreams and love. The true spirit of Christmas - giving to others who need it more than yourself - is a key theme. The recipes are a lovely addition and, not being kept as a collection at the end of the book, makes then more relevant to the story. The deer theme running through the book is an jaded plus.My first book by Kate Forster but not my last.
An enjoyable Christmas story with some nice characters. Predictable story but cute nonetheless, held my attention so much that I read it in one sitting. Indulgent like a cozy blanket on a wet winters day.
