5.0 out of 5 starsA thrilling fast paced read

I was in the mood for a good thriller and this book hit the spot.
Well written character analysis of the main protagonist in the story, which set the mind wondering, what is the truth here.

3.0 out of 5 stars Hardly ‘nail biting’

This book was dull. It didn’t keep me on the edge of my seat as promised and I certainly didn’t bite my nails. The plot was weak and predictable. I managed to get through it and feel like it wasn’t a complete waste of my time but I certainly won’t be recommending it to any friends !!! Sorry Reece not sure that I agree with you again !!

For the season half I couldn't put the book down. I was never sure which way the twist would go. And I did like the happily ever after.

We Were Never Here is the latest book club pick from @reesesbookclub. I was drawn to the cover right away and then the blurb convinced me I needed to read this!

The story follows main character Emily and her friend Kristen, starting with a holiday together in Chile which takes a fatal turn.

This book had me gripped! I couldn’t believe the twists and turns throughout. I felt like I was being gaslighted myself as the story unfolded and I kept questioning where it was going to go. Towards the end of the book I was with Kirsty while I was reading it so she can testify to the numerous gasps as the narrative which had been building throughout reached its final crescendo.

I always say I want to read more thrillers and this really given me that boost to read more! Have you read this one? Or any other of the recent picks from Reese’s book club?

2.0 out of 5 stars Very disappointing

This is the first purchase I have made on Reese’s book club recommendation but I have since unsubscribed because the book is more chick lit than crime. I am obviously not the target audience as I was hoping for a quality gripping read and I couldn’t bring myself to finish the book. Wouldn’t recommend.

1.0 out of 5 stars Too silly a story

This is the last time I purchase a Reece Witherspoon recommended book. And never mind that Netflix have purchased for tv/film. There's plenty of bad tv out there.
After 2 chapters, I knew I had picked wrongly. Characters are too see through and stupid to be believable. I should avoid fiction. Any under 30 this day and age who hasn't Googled a friend, their history or traumatic past, must live in a cave. Emma is too annoyingly naive, Kirsten too obviously controlling. Stopped reading a third way through to reach the last 2 chapters and already knew what the outcome would be.

Not a great book, quite dull, hardly nail biting. The twists weren't shocking, it was all very predictable. Most of the 5* reviews for this book are from people who got it for free....I paid 99p and it wasn't worth it
