Moning Mad
5.0 out of 5 starsCompelling, a little naughty and a great story
Reviewed in Australia on 8 October 2021
Totally spoiler free but OMG what an ending. I kind of hate myself for reading it the day it came out as now I have to wait until November! 😬😭

KF Brenne books are always hilarious and I really enjoy her unique characters. This book was no different, although it did have some surprising sexual situations! Finley was a strong character who didn't take rubbish from anyone, and Nyfain-the-sometimes-jerk was compelling. I loved Finleys' connection with her family and how they drove her to try and help the Kingdom.

If you haven't tried K F Breene you are missing out.

3.0 out of 5 starsGreat story but left me conflicted
Reviewed in Australia on 24 October 2021
I really liked the storyline in this take on Beauty and the Beast, but I am conflicted. I am all for the broody hero, though we find he is more layered as the story continues. Our heroine is tough without being invulnerable and I am curious to learn more about her repressed animal, though I have my suspicions.
I'm not generally a prude but the graphic, in-your-face language and scenarios, particularly the Hadriel character, seemed overly aggressive and killed the romance element for me at times. The regular use of the c bomb is a huge turn off for me and the sudden urge the characters seemed to have to talk dirty in the middle of other issues was a bit jolting.
With that said, if you can look past the list interludes, there was action, adventure and world building that make me want to search up the second installment to see what happens next.

1.0 out of 5 stars A dark fairytale
Reviewed in Australia on 4 January 2022

A kind and fearless Finley desperate to save her family. A warrior prince cursed by the Demon King who has lost everything. Both of them not willing to compromise or work together, all could be lost. Their sexual attraction is off the charts, it is a shame they cannot talk to each other enough to save themselves or each other. Nyfain is a tough character, a warrior prince, cursed and he has lost everything. Finley has lost her mother and soon her father will follow but she never gives up hope. If only she could inspire the prince to keep fighting otherwise all will be lost. Never underestimate a woman who has something worth fighting for.

I dislike these kinds of books. Did not realise the content as Ive read KFBreen before which never had this kind of smut. Sorry but that is just my opinion.
I'd love to get a refund but dont think that is what will happen.

1.0 out of 5 stars Nasty
Reviewed in Australia on 28 October 2021
God awful. 0 stars. I got 30% in and just couldn't go any further. I couldn't figure out if it's set in real world or old world. The language says real the setting says old.
I'm a big swearer but this book just used unesassary language in inappropriate times.
Don't even get me started on the porn. Not good porn..... nasty I can't unread that porn.

Do not recommend it at all.

1.0 out of 5 stars Utter trash and a waste of time
Reviewed in Australia on 9 April 2022
Look I'm all for spicy fiction that is unashamedly filthy but this was utter trash. The smut *might* have been sexy if the characters had any kind of substance, chemistry or erm... Character. The story is as dull and non existent as the characters are bland and the sex is gratuitous and funny but not in a "well this is unexpectedly spicy" kinda of way and more "written like a lemon fan fiction by someone whose only experience of sex is bad porn". This is bottom shelf Kindle unlimited shovelware and I only got as far as I did because I listened to the audio book and I have very low standards when multitasking but GOOD GRIEF it was just painful (despite the surprisingly good narration) and I'm gobsmacked that this kind of crap gets published. I need to go and scrub my brain, I feel dumber having listened to this.

Errr….what the heck was that? Absolutely awful 😣 If I wanted to read porn, I’d buy it knowing what I was going into.
I’ve read almost everything Breene has written, 98% of it was brilliant…
This was just crass and shockingly bad. I honestly tried to finish it with an open ( cringing ) mind but I feel cheated and a little dirty tbh. I’m no prude either.
Refunded….

1.0 out of 5 stars It's a no for me

Apparently my first review on this book was too mean so I gotta resubmit it.
This book is terrible. The writing style is so juvenile and obnoxiously cheesy. I think I got to maybe to the 5th or 6th chapter before I just couldn't do it anymore. It read like a fan fic written by an "edgey" teenager who just learned a couple new curse words. I honestly don't get why there are so many good reviews on this thing. Perhaps they're getting paid for it cause this book is a disaster.

I nearly abandoned this early on because the modern words and slang were so jarring in a fairytale setting that I couldn’t understand what the author was aiming for. I did struggle through to the end and honestly, I wish I hadn’t bothered. It was a mess, I wouldn’t recommend it.

Very definitely X rated. I can’t say I would recommend it to anyone, there is very little story, just explicit descriptions. I expected better from KF Breene.

1.0 out of 5 stars Overhyped.

I feel extremely let down by how hyped this book is. A lot of people suggested this for retellings and I was really excited to read it. And I feel so let down.

This book was super hard to read. The writing made it hard to follow along and I couldn’t keep up at all with what was happening. You’re introduced to a lot and none of it made sense. There was very few resemblances to the beauty and the beast. And I found the characters really weak and boring.

Will not be finishing the series.

1.0 out of 5 stars If I could give it zero stars I would

To be honest I ONLY read to 30%. I just couldn't take the immaturity any longer. Now I use the F word ALOT! but this author used the dumbest foul language I have ever read. If the female character were 14 it might be believable but at her age, it was seriously ridiculous. I loathe authors that use language or sex gratuitously, it has to at least have A purpose in the story. Most of the language had me eye-rolling and I won't even go into the 1st sex scene(by herself). It was just plain weird. I struggled to get to 30% knowing reading more would have the same language and judging from other reviewers the sex scenes would NOT be on an adult level. The author should have made this a YA without sex. Most young boys would have giggled at the language. I suppose if you are a younger reader all of this would be enjoyable and garner all the five stars but as an older reader I expect more.
