This was an enjoyable billionaire romance which wasn't in the usual mould for this trope. Beckett, the male main character, was not a typical alpha. He was kind, caring and protective, but also thoughtful and patient, not traits usually associated with hot billionaire alphas. The female lead was no shrinking violet either, making this a coupling of equals, which was refreshing.
I didn't absolutely love it though, and I'm not sure what made it miss the mark for me. Perhaps it was that the steam factor was low for me, even though the two characters had plenty of sex. There wasn't the right level of detail in the writing of the sex scenes for them to come alive and add serious steam to the story.
Took me a while to warm up to Beckett and to be honest was wondering if I’d finish the book. Then all of a sudden the dynamics changed and I was so engrossed and engaged I couldn’t put the book down. This was a great couple who both had issues with one person but also the parents. They were a great match and everyone deserves a Beckett. My only gripe is that retribution wasn’t sweet enough for Declan and Katie or that the parents recognised the gold they had in this couple,
It felt like the story dragged on at times but it really was a lovely one! Jenna is such a strong, confident, determined character and I absolutely adored her. The way Beckett adores her though is the sweetest
I enjoyed this very much. It fit perfect for my mood. I enjoyed both of the very selfless characters. They were fun and extremely caring. There was also a perfect amount of steam for this type of story. The reason for the lower rating was, though there is plenty of details, there is missing character details. Beckett has blue eyes, great abs, and dresses in nice suits….jenna has long hair, sometimes wavy and has a funky sense of style that sounds awesome…..that’s pretty much all we get. That made it difficult to picture what each character looked like. Of course I filled in the blanks eventually with my lively imagination.
