Another reason why Sally has become one of my favourite authors.
Tully and Rachel are more than a little unhappy to find their father marrying a woman their own age. What's worse, is that Stephen is still married to their mother, now in a care facility with Alzheimer's disease. Heather is also worried, knowing too well that her appearance in Stephen's life may not be welcomed by his children. When the pair announce their engagement things really heat up and the tension rises. Secrets are revealed and ghosts of the past are uncovered, while the author left me questioning each of the characters.
This one had everything, with plenty of excitement throughout. It begins with a cracking start that makes you wonder what led to this build up and the story follows from there. The author has a playful humour through her stories and builds such tension with each of her characters, keeping you immersed in the story. And the hot water bottle filled with cash. This is definitely one I recommend you prioritise. Brilliant.
Thanks so much to the author and Macmillan Australia for this gifted advance review copy.
